Dr. Elvira Klause, MD, FACS

Dedication to her patients, excellence in the operating room and hard work are some of the many qualities that have made Dr. Klause one of the leading surgeons in South Orange County. 

Dr. Klause graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in 1989 and successfully completed medical school at University of Missouri in Columbia in 1993. She completed her Residency in Surgery in 1999 at Martin Luther King Hospital where she received the Chief Residence Award. Dr. Klause went on to earn a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery and Critical Care also from Martin Luther King Hospital in 2000.

Specializing in General, Breast, Laparoscopic and Trauma Surgery, Dr. Klause is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Klause is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma Advanced Trauma Life Support. She is a member of the Memorial Care Physician’s Society, Clinical Preceptor for Western University of Health Sciences, and a member of the Association of Women Surgeons. Currently, Dr. Klause holds privileges at South Coast Medical Center, Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in San Clemente & Laguna Hills, Mission Hospital and California Hospital Medical Center.

Dr. Klause loves living in South Orange County with her wonderful husband and three great children. In her free time, she enjoys doing crafts with the kids, gourmet cooking and just being “Mom”!
